Almost everyone has heard about breast augmentation, also known as a “boob job,” but few people have heard of a breast lift. Women whose breasts have started to sag or droop because of time, gravity, breastfeeding, pregnancies, or weight loss may not be candidates for an augmentation–but you may be a fabulous candidate for a breast lift. If you’re ready to restore your youthful, perky, and natural-looking breasts, then call today at (817) 529-9199.

What is a Breast Lift?

Women whose breasts are beginning to show signs of sagging often come in asking about breast augmentation. However, just getting implants isn’t always the best route to go to make sure you get beautiful and natural-looking breasts. In fact, some breast lifts are done without using any implants at all. In these cases, your doctor may recommend a breast lift (mastopexy) procedure.

For several reasons, a breast lift is often slightly more complicated than a simple breast augmentation. First of all, with sagging breasts, your surgeon will remove the excess skin of the breast to lift and shape it to your desired look. In many cases, the nipple points downward, and your doctor will also reposition it.

How to Get Started With Us

When you call our offices, you’ll be greeted by our friendly and world-class staff. Getting phone calls from potential new patients is one of the highlights of our day, and we always love answering your questions. From the moment you call, you’ll get a level of care and service you won’t find anywhere else. We take the time to hear and understand everything you have to say. We’ll always answer your questions honestly and tell you everything you need to know at every step of the process.

After you call, the next step is to schedule a convenient time for you to come in for your consultation. This meeting is when you’ll talk with your doctor about your medical history, and you’ll discuss your goals for the procedure in detail. Your doctor will use all the details to develop your customized treatment plan to guide them through the procedure. Your surgeon may also perform an examination during this consultation.

When to Get a Breast Lift?

Women should understand that a breast lift on its own will not necessarily change the size of their breasts: only the shape and contour of them. There are a few common indications that you need a breast lift, but you should always consult your doctor before making your final decision.

  • Nipple angle – If your nipples point downward, it can be a sign that you would benefit from a lift instead of an augmentation.
  • Nipple location – A breast lift may be a better option if your nipples sit underneath the crease of the breast.
  • Asymmetrical breasts – A breast lift can be a terrific option for women with asymmetrical or tuberous breasts.

Combining a Breast Augmentation and a Breast Lift

Patients that undergo breast lifts often use the opportunity to add more size to their breasts with an augmentation. Your doctor will discuss this option with you during your consultation. Adding more volume to your breasts during a breast lift can help increase their fullness, perkiness, and youthfulness as well.

Health Insurance and Breast Lifts

Another common question we get from our patients is if their health insurance will cover their breast lift. Because health insurance can vary greatly between patients, this is another one of those questions that are difficult to answer without talking with each patient individually. However, based on what we know, most health insurance providers do not cover elective procedures like breast lifts. But there are cases where health insurers will cover some breast procedures for things like a mastectomy and some breast-related diseases. Check with your healthcare provider and make sure you consult your health insurance plan.

Our doctors believe every woman should feel 100% confident about herself and her body. If you’re ready to get the breasts you’ve always wanted, then call our  office today at (817) 529-9199.
