Improved Comfort and Contour

Our surgeons offer women breast reduction surgery to help them attain greater comfort and confidence in everyday life.

Patients choose to have the procedure for many personal reasons, such as resolving back pain or achieving a more shapely and proportionate body contour. Explore how MP Plastic Surgery can support your needs below, and then contact our office for a consultation.

Should I Have a Breast Reduction?

Your initial consultation will give you the chance to ask questions about breast reduction surgery. You’ll discuss your goals and get information about what to expect after the procedure. This information can help you decide if surgery is right for you.

Smaller breasts can improve your health and personal comfort in several ways:

  • Reduce or eliminate back, shoulder, and neck pain that heavy breasts can cause.
  • Gain renewed freedom to exercise and play the sports you love.
  • Improve the natural proportions of your body.
  • Find a bra that fits more comfortably without chafing.
  • Increase the options you have for clothing.

Most importantly, a breast reduction can increase your confidence in your appearance, helping you reshape your body in the way you imagine for yourself.

Before and After

Feel free to take a look at our before and after gallery, where you can see actual results from our breast reduction patients.

Breast Reduction Basics

A breast reduction removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin to give you smaller, lighter breasts with improved symmetry. Our doctors typically incorporate a breast lift into reduction surgery to correct sagging and create a beautiful contour.

Your health insurance plan may cover breast reduction surgery. Most insurance providers require documentation that the surgery is medically necessary. MP Plastic Surgery will work with you to determine the scope of your coverage. We will also give you a detailed price quote at your consultation and will be glad to go over your options for financing. Our staff strives to give you complete care in every aspect of your experience.

What Breast Reduction Patients Can Expect

In your initial consultation, your doctor will recommend an approach for breast reduction to give you the desired outcome. The shape and size of your breasts and their proportion to your body play a role in this decision.

During surgery, your doctor will likely use a “lollipop” approach unless the breast size requires a different incision. It offers three main benefits:

  • The “lollipop” incision is about half the size of the traditional anchor-shaped incision, which results in a smaller, less noticeable scar.
  • The shape fits well with the natural curve of the breast.
  • The result is typically a rounder, perkier, and more natural-looking breast.

Breast reduction patients may need about a week or two off work to recover. If you have a desk job, you may be able to return within the first week. Expect to sleep on your back for the first few weeks. We recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise for 4-6 weeks as well.

By the end of your recovery, you can expect breasts that are reduced in size and more proportional to your body’s shape, creating an attractive contour that offers you greater comfort.
